Curtain Ideas

So I have yet to find any curtains I like for my living room. Instead I have been hunting for ideas that I can do myself. Here are two that I have found.

This first one I found on Kara Paslay Designs blog. Doesn't look too difficult.

This one is an applique technique I found on Design Sponge There is even a tutorial on there.

I wanted to pick a light solid linen fabric. I was even considering buying solid sheets since they may be cheaper than buying fabric. then I could easily add some desgin to them to liven them up. We shall see....
