Snow Storm!

I can't remember the last time I saw this much snow! It was super exciting. Kathy enjoyed it. Zach ended up with the weekend off and I didn't have to go to work yesterday. Too bad there wasn't anything on TV and we were trapped at home. I am really ready to get out of the house tomorrow that is for sure. I baked, cooked, and cleaned house, and did laundry pretty much all weekend. Awesome. Granted my apple pie was totally worth it, and my first time roasting a chicken turned out really well. They were things I needed to get done but still, ready to get out of the house.

Now from Crossfit my arms continued to swell Wednesday. At least twice the size they were Tuesday. I had to go to the doctor and get some anti-inflammatory medicine. It was so horrible my arms were HUGE. The doctor was stumped. Luckily today they are finally about normal size but still sore. A week later and my arms still hurt! So insane. I had to stay home from work Thursday and keep my arms elevated to keep the swelling down. Bleh. I just don't think Crossfit is the workout for me. I will have to stick to running and normal weights.

I'm ready for the snow to melt and my arms to be totally healed so I can get back to running. I feel like my time is running out to get in shape for the wedding. Not that I am in BAD shape, but I want to be in better shape. Enough with the set backs such as weather, injury and who knows what else.

And a busy week ahead...

Crossfit Hell

Okay so, In my motivation for wedding day shape I agreed to let Jeb teach me and ashley crossfit. BAD idea. I did WAY to much and have been paying for it ever since. It is like I am crippled. This is more than just regular muscle soreness. My arms are completely swollen and I can barely move. Even keeping them stationary hurts. Zach even had to wash my hair for me! So stupid. And I feel totally pathetic and helpless. I can't even get them remotely straightened out either. I just hope my arms go back to their normal size and soon. I am way over this pain by day 3. Don't know if I have the guts to try crossfit again. If I do I can promise I will be doing wayyy less. No more 50 reverse pullups, 50 squats, and 50 burpees for me.

Finally a new painting

So I was supposed to paint Josh (Zach's Brother) a painting for Christmas. I was just too busy to do it in time though. So I vowed that he would have one by his birthday, which is coming up on the 27th to be exact. So I finally got around to painting it on Sunday. I am realllly happy with it. So happy in fact that I almost want to keep it for myself. Ha! Maybe now I am more inspired to paint more often. It is just hard to find the time especially with all the wedding planning right now. But here it is!!

Snag It

I do not know why I did not know about this program Snag It before... But it is totally awesome and I must have it. For anyone who does not already know it is a program that allows you to do screen capturing in numerous ways, you can have it so it captures the entire page, or a section or even a section that you select, then you can modify it, add text etc, and save it under various formats including jpeg. I am sure everyone else already knows of it and I am probably the last to discover it, but regardless it is awesome and they even offer a free 30 day trial. I am sure I can get my work to permanently purchase the software though, it is a must have.
If you are interested in downloading the free trial go here

Glass Cyllinders

For the holidays I had these filled with ornaments and spray painted gold pinecones... So when I took my christmas decorations down I needed something to put in them. This is what I came up with...
The pictures aren't the best but oh well... The color seemed to turn out a harsher olive green than I think it really is. Hmm.

Legend of the Seeker

I am newly addicted to this show. I have completely caught up with all episodes via Netflix online and Hulu. I am ready for new episodes starting again Saturday, January 9!

I am also about to start reading the first of the series of books that the show is loosely based off of. The Sword of Truth books by Terry Goodkind. I hope they are good! I sure love my science fiction novels!

Lots on my mind...

It is now 2010! A new year which I am sure will hold lots of new things.

The biggest ones being Zach and I getting married, and hopefully buying our first house! Fingers are also crossed for us going overseas to Ireland for our honeymoon!

Lately I have had several things on my mind (other than wedding planning, which consumes alot of my daily thoughts)

First off I have been on the hunt for new ways to tie scarves. At Christmas Eve Kaelyn had tied her scarf completely awesome it was almost braided. I still haven't found anything online on how to recreate that look, nor have I figured it out myself. However, I have discovered several other interesting ways to tie a scarf. The first of my two favorites so far being the braided look .The other look I am sporting right now. I think it almost is a woven look though they call it casual. It is super simple to do too. Here are instructions.

This site was the closest thing I could find as a Scarf Tying Guide.

I have also felt very anxious to get all the improvements I want done on our house done. Though this is an unrealistic dream seeing that we need to save, also we need to buy the house first. Zach and I have been talking alot about this lately. Since we want to get a house (if we can) while the 8,000 tax credit is still happening ( so before april). We were also thinking that depending on how much our house appraises for we may or may not shop around to see if we could find something else that is larger/ or more what we may want for the same price. It is definately overwhelming, especially since Zach and I have no clue about this stuff and the loans and everything else involved.

I think maybe some rearranging of furniture and some simple yet cheap decorating accents will hold me over. Right now I need to figure out what to put inside my tall glass cyllinder and hurricane glass since I took the ornaments and pine cones out when I packed up our christmas decorations....
I also need to finish my quilt for Zach and I's bedroom. Then we can paint and that room will be on its way to looking more like an actual bedroom.

I really just need to get it in my head that Dream homes don't happen overnight!
